This post contains pictures for the week ending August 24, 2014.  The framing  progression is really starting to take shape, and this week the steel contractors arrived to erect the steel columns and beams.  Notice the outriggers that stabilize the truck and allow the crane truck to swivel and bear the large loads.   The steel erectors bolt the columns to the anchor bolts that have been poured deep into the concrete stemwalls.  The knobs protruding from the columns are called Nelson Studs, and allow wood members to be attached to the steel.
